Good Morning DC,

Kirstie Alley the Emmy award-winning star of the TV series Cheers, has died from cancer at the age of 71. John Travolta has paid her a tribute.

This Tuesday morning, I am at the Senate, preparing for a series of events I will attend today. The new Democratic House Leadership will hold a news conference, the Senate leaders from both parties will do one, and the outgoing House Majority Leader Hoyer will hold his regular weekly briefing.

While the White House and the State Department are one of the most elite beats in political journalism, I am very excited to expand our political coverage to the US Capitol. As I’ve mentioned yesterday morning, With the Pavlovic Today from the US Capitol, we will run on Tuesdays.

Your top news stories are below.

White House official told us that the President will discuss “how TSMC’s new investments in Phoenix are a result of his economic plan – including the CHIPS and Science Act, and his commitment to addressing the economic and national security concerns of not producing lead-edge semiconductors in the US.”

Apple CEO Tim Cook, we have learned, will be there too.
