THE WHITE HOUSE
A White House official told The Pavlovic Today that President Biden will convene a roundtable with Secretary Becerra, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, and manufacturers of infant formula to receive updates on their progress in ramping up the supply in the US.
“The President will discuss actions the Administration is taking to increase the production of formula by current US manufacturers through use of the Defense Production Act, speeding up imports of formula from outside of the US through Operation Fly Formula and dramatically ramping up imports through FDA exercising import discretion,” according to a White House official.
He also gave us a list of companies participating in the meeting:
- Ron Belldegrun, CEO and co-founder, ByHeart
- Kristy Carr, CEO, and founder, Bubs Australia
- Robert Cleveland, Senior Vice President, North America, Europe Nutrition, Reckitt
- Murray Kessler, CEO, Perrigo Company
- Tarun Malkani, CEO, Gerber
President Biden will attend the US Coast Guard change of command ceremony today. Adm. Karl L. Schultz will be relieved by Adm. Linda Fagan as the Commandant of the US Coast Guard.

FOREIGN AFFAIRS
The US administration is continuing its support for Ukraine. As the hundredth day of Russia’s war against Ukraine approaches, Ned Price said that the Biden administration “remains concerned” about steps Russia is taking to “institutionalize control” over Ukraine’s Kherson region.
Price laid out a few possible approaches Russia may take “from recognizing a so-called “people’s republic” as Russia forcibly did in Donetsk and Luhansk, to an attempted annexation just as Russia did in Crimea.”
Over the weekend, President Biden said Washington was unwilling to send to Ukraine systems that can hit inside Russia. Price said that the US will “continue to consider a range of systems that have the potential to be effective on the battlefield” but reiterated that “we won’t be sending long-range rockets for use beyond the battlefield in Ukraine.”
In an OpEd in NYT, Biden stated
We do not seek a war between NATO and Russia. As much as I disagree with Mr. Putin, and find his actions an outrage, the United States will not try to bring about his ouster in Moscow. So long as the United States or our allies are not attacked, we will not be directly engaged in this conflict, either by sending American troops to fight in Ukraine or by attacking Russian forces. We are not encouraging or enabling Ukraine to strike beyond its borders. We do not want to prolong the war just to inflict pain on Russia.

Tennis star Andy Murray has shared his upset and anger with the BBC about the mass shootings at a school in Uvalde, Texas.
