At the International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, where Dunav Insurance is this year’s general sponsor, the company is using one of the region’s major agricultural gatherings to reinforce both its market position and its ties with farmers and industry partners.
A high-ranking delegation of state and business representatives from Serbia and the region visited the Dunav Insurance booth, where they were welcomed by Branislav Trifunović, Chairman of the Executive Board, and his associates. Discussions focused on the company’s activities and results in agricultural insurance—a segment in which Dunav Insurance holds approximately 40% of the market for crops, fruit and livestock insurance in Serbia.
For the insurer, that position comes at a time when agricultural producers are facing a growing range of climate-related risks.
“In the past ten years, and especially in the last five, climate changes and increasingly frequent risks such as hail, spring frost, drought, floods and storm events, including supercell storms, have caused significant damage to agriculture,” said Miloš Obrenović, Head of the Agricultural Insurance Coordination Service at Dunav Insurance.
Over the past five years alone, the company has paid policyholders 7.5 billion dinars in compensation for agricultural losses.
That scale of claims, Obrenović said, has changed the role insurance plays for farmers. “Through the quality of our services and the rapid payment of claims, we retain existing clients and acquire new ones.”
Building More Flexible Protection for Farmers
Dunav Insurance says its focus remains on providing farmers with fast, efficient and reliable support while adapting its products to the changing realities of agricultural production.
The company has developed special insurance packages designed to offer broader protection for farms and agricultural production, with more favorable and flexible terms.
During May, holders of agricultural households and members of their households can also receive a 10% discount on comprehensive motor vehicle insurance and a 15% discount on the “Home Guard” property insurance packages when they take out crop and fruit insurance or livestock insurance.
The aim, according to Obrenović, is to extend protection beyond agricultural production itself and provide more comprehensive coverage for both farms and households.
Partnerships Beyond Insurance
Dunav Insurance is also using the Novi Sad fair to strengthen its commercial partnerships.
At the company’s stand, Dunav Insurance signed a cooperation agreement with KITE d.o.o., the official distributor of John Deere agricultural machinery. As part of the cooperation, two policies were concluded covering comprehensive employee insurance against occupational diseases and personal accident insurance.
The insurer also provided free motor third-party liability and comprehensive insurance policies for the winner of a John Deere tractor awarded by KITE d.o.o. through a prize draw for visitors to the Agricultural Fair.
The initiatives reflect Dunav Insurance’s broader approach at the fair: combining farmer-focused insurance products with partnerships across Serbia’s agricultural ecosystem.
