Prince Andrew hosted Jeffrey Epstein at his private residence, Royal Lodge in Windsor, just days before the financier’s 2006 arrest, according to new reporting by the BBC.
Epstein is said to have stayed at the 30-room mansion alongside Ghislaine Maxwell and disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein as part of Princess Beatrice’s masked ball celebrating her 18th birthday.
The invitation, according to the BBC, was extended roughly two months after U.S. authorities had issued an arrest warrant for Epstein on charges of sexually assaulting a minor. He was arrested in Florida eight days after the Windsor event took place.
In a 2019 interview with BBC Newsnight, Prince Andrew said he “wasn’t aware” that Epstein had an active arrest warrant at the time of the celebration.

While it has long been reported that Epstein, Maxwell, and Weinstein attended the party, the new report adds that the Duke of York had hosted them in his own home in the days leading up to the event — a detail not previously disclosed.
The revelation comes amid renewed scrutiny over Prince Andrew’s long-standing relationship with Epstein. The Duke continues to occupy Royal Lodge, reportedly paying a nominal “peppercorn rent” for the estate he has leased for two decades, even as calls mount for him to be removed from public life. Royal Lodge is part of the Crown Estate — a property portfolio owned by the monarch but managed independently, with its profits directed to the UK Treasury.
In recent weeks, public pressure on the prince has intensified following the publication of the posthumous memoirs of Virginia Giuffre.
