Are you feeling burnt out, overworked or sluggish? In a fast-paced world, these 4 tips will help you be equipped to take care of yourself and tackle life’s daily tasks.

1. Exercise and Diet

Who else wants to feel like Wonder Woman? Not only has working-out developed my confidence, it has also helped with mild depression. Stressed ? Skip it out. There is something liberating about working out to the point of exhaustion. Pushing boundaries and setting new targets. There are so many exercises that you can choose from. There is no excuse as to why you can’t get into the best shape of your life.

You literally are what you eat. When I cut out dairy – I noticed my face stopped flaring up. I want to minimize eating meat because studies have shown that countries with a low consumption of meat, have a lower risk of cancer. When you eat whole foods and exercise, I strongly believe that it’s a form of self-love and a perfect way to take care of yourself.

2. Journal for Self – Care

I love journalling. It’s an amazing outlet. I am able to journal ideas, numbers, and experiences. My journal has been a source of comfort during difficult times. My journal has also outlined funny times, first crushes, fights and more (classified). It can also be a look of progress to see how far you’ve come in terms of maintaining goals and achieving new ones. Not only will you gain personal insight and clarity, but your writing will significantly improve.

3. Spiritual Development

I acknowledge not everyone is Christian and that’s okay. For me, my faith has helped me stay grounded. Reading my Bible has built a steadfastness that I did not have before. Now, I see my life is not about me (I forget about that sometimes). There is a greater purpose to my writings and conversations as a result of my spiritual development. You can pick up any book or biography of successful leaders or people who endured hardships to get inspired.

4. Minimize Social Media Usage

I did not use Facebook for a year. I have been using Facebook since 2007 until it became all-consuming.  I would feel inadequate seeing pages of vacations, and other places. It contrasted with the fact that I was in my apartment on my personal computer.

Not using Facebook for a year, made me more confident in myself, my opinions and who I was as a person. I also try not to follow accounts on Instagram that would make me feel inadequate. We all know that Social Media Influencers are strategic in their timing, placement, and filters of their photos. We often forget that. Using the time we spend on social media to cultivate personal interests is far more beneficial.

Taking these 4 steps into consideration will lead to a life of wisdom, growth, and development.  Do you think I missed anything? How do you take care of yourself? Comment below!
