LONDON—Around 100 participants are coming together to discuss unpredictable advances of AI and the potential for humans to lose control of it, at the first global AI summit held at Bletchley Park on November 1 and 2.

Elon Musk and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak are scheduled to participate in a live interview together on Thursday evening. In a post on X, Sunak said, “In conversation with Elon Musk after the AI Safety Summit on Thursday night on X.”

The tech billionaire is expected to attend the global summit on artificial intelligence before this meeting. The summit, at Bletchley Park, aims to bring together AI experts and global leaders to discuss the potential risks of artificial intelligence.

Vice President Kamala Harris and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen are also set to attend.

This summit unfolds on the heels of a pivotal moment, as President Biden recently signed an Executive Order (EO) on AI. The EO has been heralded as “the strongest set of actions any government in the world has ever taken on AI safety, security, and trust,” according to White House Deputy Chief of Staff Bruce Reed.

The Bletchley Park gathering promises to be an essential platform for these influential figures to exchange ideas, strategies, and insights regarding AI’s future, ensuring that AI remains a powerful force for good while mitigating potential risks.
