Former President Donald Trump announced that he has been indicted in a criminal investigation relating to the alleged possession of hundreds of classified documents. These documents, according to the accusations, were taken by Trump to his Florida residence after he departed from the White House in 2020.

In a statement, the 76-year-old ex-President, who is currently the frontrunner for the Republican nomination in the upcoming presidential election, criticized the Biden Administration, describing it as corrupt. Trump expressed his surprise at the indictment, referring to it as the “Boxes Hoax.” He revealed that his attorneys were notified of the charges and stated that he has been summoned to appear before a federal court in Miami on Tuesday.

“I never thought it possible that such a thing could happen to a former President of the United States, who received far more votes than any sitting President in the History of our Country, and is currently leading, by far, all Candidates, both Democrat and Republican, in Polls of the 2024 Presidential Election. I AM AN INNOCENT MAN!” Trump asserted.

He further remarked that the indictment signifies a “DARK DAY” for the United States of America, expressing concern over what he perceives as a significant and rapid decline of the country. However, he expressed optimism, stating, “together we will Make America Great Again!”

In April, Former President Donald Trump faced a legal indictment in a Manhattan criminal court, where he was charged with 34 felony counts. These charges revolved around the falsification of business records concerning his involvement in a hush money payment scheme concerning adult film actress Stormy Daniels, which occurred towards the end of the 2016 presidential campaign.

Trump’s allies have responded to the news of the criminal indictment. Rep. Jim Jordan stated that it is a “sad day for America.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene described the news of Trump’s indictment as “Ultimately the biggest hypocrisy in modern-day history.”

On Saturday, Trump is scheduled to participate in election rallies in North Carolina and Georgia.
