Air Force One was wheels down at London Stansted at 9:56 p.m. local time.
President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump exited the plane together, holding hands on the stairs and each using their other hand to hold the railing. (Melania, who wore a black coat to board, had changed into a red trench to disembark).
In flight, there were few visitors. Only Hogan Gidley came back briefly to say hi. When asked, he said he did not think there was anyone from White House counsel’s office on the flight. He also took down several of the pool’s other questions, and said he’d try to get answers.
The original plan was to chopper to the Winfield House, where Trump is staying. But there was a bad weather call — it’s not raining but the fields were apparently too wet for the choppers to land — so we are now motorcading.
And, per the White House, here is the list of greeters:
Ambassador Woody Johnson
United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
Ms. Jennifer Tolhurst
Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Essex
Mr. David Pearey
Special Representative of the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs
Mr. Nick Miller
Director of Airside Operations, London Stansted Airport (STN)
