Trump repeats attacks on “the radical left”, listing the many efforts of the administration to address issues in democrat-run cities during today’s press briefing.

Today, President Trump began his press conference by announcing that his administration works to restore previously suspended UN sanctions against Iran.

“Mark it down, Iran will never have a nuclear weapon,” Trump repeated to reporters. The President also sharply criticized the country, stating, “Iran doesn’t have so much money to give the world anymore.”

Trump: “We’re Saving The World From A Radical Left Philosophy”

The President spoke about Operation Legend, which sent over 1,000 federal agents to “help these democrat-run disasters”. Trump’s attack on the democrat-led cities include Portland, New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, and Los Angeles. He announced that Operation Legend resulted in approximately 1,500 arrests. The crimes targeted by the operation were gun crimes, arson, and murder.

A reporter asked the President to comment on the recent rise of the QAnon conspiracy theory movement, to which he admitted to knowing little about. However, he made clear that he appreciated the movement’s support of him.

The reporter then explained that the movement’s theory is that Trump is “secretly saving the world from this satanic cult of pedophiles and cannibals.” The President then asked, “is that supposed to be a bad thing?… we’re saving the world from a radical left philosophy that will destroy this country, and when this country is gone, the rest of the world will follow.”

Trump: “We Are Using The Full Power Of The Federal Government To Defeat The China Virus”

The President noted his administration’s work to fight the coronavirus, stating, “we are using the full power of the federal government to defeat, as you know, the China virus.” Amidst the recent news of colleges and universities like UNC-Chapel Hill and Notre Dame moving to virtual online learning, the President doubled down on his belief that college students would be safer if they lived on their college campuses and returned to in-person learning.

Trump claimed that people under the age of 44 had a 2.7% mortality rate with no specific source cited, further noting that many of those who died had pre-existing conditions. “For university students, the likelihood of severe illness is less than or equal to the risk of a seasonal flu,” he stated. The President went on to argue that closing universities could cost lives. He listed the risks of depression, suicide, and drug and alcohol abuse that occur in places that are, more generally, shutdown.

Trump: “The Reason I’m Here Is Because Of President Obama And Joe Biden”

The President included many attacks during his briefing on former President Barack Obama and Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden. Trump called the Iran Nuclear Deal “ridiculous” and created by President Obama and “sleepy Joe Biden”. When a reporter asked President Trump for a response to the excerpts of Obama’s Democratic National Convention speech, Trump called his predecessor “ineffective” and “so terrible”.

Trump ended the press conference with sharp hits on the former President and Vice President, stating, “President Obama did not do a good job. And the reason I’m here is because of President Obama and Joe Biden, because if they did a good job, I wouldn’t be here”. He went on to say, “if they did a good job, I wouldn’t have even run. I would have been very happy. I enjoyed my previous life very much, but they did such a bad job that I stand before you as President”.
