PM Boris Johnson is set to make a televised address to the nation regarding the new lockdown restrictions against a new variant of COVID 19.
A No10 spokesman announced that the spread of the new variant of COVID-19 has led to rapidly escalating case numbers across the UK
“The Prime Minister is clear that further steps must now be taken to arrest this rise and to protect the NHS and save lives,” the spokesman said.
PM Johnson will set out the new measures this evening in a televised address tonight at 8 pm London time to update the country on the next steps to tackle coronavirus. Parliament will be recalled today to sit on Wednesday.
