GMDC: White House Correspondent Ksenija Pavlovic Mcateer gives her take on the latest news from the White House

Good Morning DC,

On Monday, I will be attending the Easter Egg Roll that the First Lady hosts on the White House lawn. Events like this are great fun, with children, families, and a moment of true bliss in America – until some new crisis breaks on the news cycle at a moment’s notice.

Elon Musk has made a play to buy Twitter in cash. CEO Parag Agrawal told the employees the company isn’t being “held hostage.” Hostage of what, exactly, free speech?

Did you expect so many cliffhangers?

Enter Saudi Arabia.

Free speech for the price of $45 billion? The Kingdom believes it’s too low. But why is Saudi Arabia interested in free speech?

I’d ask Khashoggi if he were alive.

In France, Macron and Le Pen are having a go at each other ahead of the final election face off. After being called a right wing extremist, Le Pen responded with her comments at France 2 TV network by saying that those remarks make her smile, “because we have never had a president who showed more signs of extremism than Emmanuel Macron.”
