Good Morning DC! It’s March 1 already, and spring is just around the corner.
On Saturday, I wrote an Open Letter to Jen Psaki and President Biden regarding the new policy of charging the White House press $170 per covid test to access the White House.
Sunday went all to Trump. First, he gave a speech at CPAC. At 9 PM EST, he sat down with Fox News’ Steve Hilton. Trump knows how to dominate the news and keep the public in suspense regarding whether he will run. While social media banned him, the press still keeps reporting on him; it’s the addiction that’s difficult to break. Media made Trump, and Trump took it to the Oval Office. Will anything be different this time around?
CPAC straw poll results gave Trump 97% approval. At the CPAC, enthusiasm for Trump was high. If Trump decides against running again, he will still have a significant sway as to who will become the GOP’s 2024 presidential nominee.
Trump entered the stage to the song Gloria, the same song from his last speech at the Ellipse on January 6, 2021, when the hell broke loose.
The former President looked notably rested. He took a moment to take in the enthusiasm from the crowd. “Hello CPAC, do you miss me yet?” he opened in an elevated but a leveled tone. “We went through a journey together, and it is “far from being over,” Trump reminded his audience. In the end, Trump promised that “We will win.”
Trump spoke of the “historical struggle,” and his speech contained standard references to opposing “radical democrats,” “cancel culture,” and “fake news media.” Trump is aware that the Republican party can split into two parties, so he announced that this would not happen.
“We are not starting new parties,” Trump declared. “We have the Republican party,” he confirmed. “I am not starting a new party; that was fake news,” he stated, quickly moving on to boast with Straw Poll results.
Trump left the office just six weeks ago and is already making a promise for America’s future. “I may even decide to beat them for the third time,” said Trump without blinking. The crowd
went jumping up and down.
Adam Kinzinger released a new video entitled “No Fear” in response to Trump’s speech at CPAC. Country First or America First? Choose to your liking if you can tell the difference.
The Johnson & Johnson vaccine received FDA and CDC approval becoming the United State’s third vaccine to fight against the ongoing pandemic. Johnson & Johnson said it began shipping doses on Sunday and expects that enough doses will be delivered by the end of March to vaccinate 20 million Americans.
Now that America has three vaccines, which one should you get? All vaccines are safe, but Dr. Fauci told George Stephanopoulos that, “ if you go to a place and you have Johnson & Johnson, and that’s the one that’s available now, I would take it.”
The House passed Biden’s COVID-19 relief plan that includes $1,400 personal checks along with financial support for small businesses and schools. The plan now moves to the Senate.
Across the pond, a new variant of COVID that came from Brazil is sending the alarm across the UK. All twelve cases so far were brought by people who traveled to the UK from Brazil.
In Russia, Navalny begins his prison sentence.
In Myanmar, police killed at least 18 protesters, the UN confirmed.
What will Biden do today? Biden will come back to the White House from Wilmington, Delaware where he spent the weekend.The President will participate in a virtual bilateral meeting with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador of Mexico. They will look at the avenues of cooperation on immigration, COVID-19 recovery and economic cooperation.

On Tuesday, March 2, 2021, Biden will have a virtual lunch with Senate Democrats.
On Wednesday, March 3, 2021, President Biden will hold a meeting on cancer legislation. He will also take part in the event with the House Democratic Caucus that will take place virtually.
At 11:00 AM The White House COVID-19 Response Team will hold the press briefing.
At NOON Press Secretary Jen Psaki and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas will brief the press.
