Board members of the White House Correspondents Association met on Thursday for the first time with the incoming Press Secretary Sean Spicer.

On Thursday, at 1:22 pm,  the incoming White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer arrived at the lobby of the Trump Tower in New York to welcome the White House Correspondents Association board members.

As Jeff Mason, the President of the White House Correspondents Association suggested, this was the first in-person meeting with Sean Spicer and the President-elect’s communications team since he was designated the next White House Press Secretary.

Along with Mason, board members Margaret Talev of Bloomberg, Olivier Knox of Yahoo and Doug Mills of the New York Times, including the TV pool chair Jonathan Greenberger joined Sean Spicer for the meeting.

After the meeting, Jeff Mason concluded that they had a  productive conversation with Spicer, Hope Hicks, and Stephanie Grisham. The meeting involved a wide range of issues related to the press corps and it was prevalently informational.

President-elect’s communication team confirmed that they will respect the formation and the use of the protective pool in its current form going forward. That includes covering the president both at the White House when he leaves the White House, as well as when he flies on Air Force One.
