President-Elect Trump Is Closely Monitoring The Situation In Europe

Daily Download with the latest updates on President-elect’s transition.

With 31 days from Inauguration Day, President-elect Trump continues to hold meetings at Mar-A-Lago and is closely monitoring the situation in Europe. Yesterday, President-elect gave condolences to the victims of tragic terrorist attacks in Turkey, Switzerland, and Germany.

President-elect took to twitter to share his thoughts about the terrorist violence which pretty much marked the beginning of the holiday week:

President-elect Donald J. Trump has condemned the assassination of Russia’s ambassador to Turkey, Andrei Karlov by stating:

“Today we offer our condolences to the family and loved ones of Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov, who was assassinated by a radical Islamic terrorist. The murder of an ambassador is a violation of all rules of civilized order and must be universally condemned.”

It is still unknown if the President-elect has talked to outgoing President Obama about the terrorist attack, but what has been confirmed is that the President-elect is being briefed by his National Security team.

Yesterday,  President-elect Trump confirmed his intention to nominate Vinnie Viola as Secretary of the Army. Viola is a West Point graduate, has a deep background in national security affairs and the transition team affirmed that American people should be with great confidence that he has what it takes to lead the US army as we start moving forward with the next administration.

Viola’s nomination received multiple accolades including the one from General (Ret.) Ray.

During these uncertain and complex times, we need leaders of great character to lead our military services. I know of no one more qualified and dedicated to lead our great Army than Vinnie Viola. A West point graduate and long time supporter of our soldiers, he has demonstrated a unique capability to build innovative and agile teams. Vinnie will  bring a wealth of business experience and military understanding to this critical national security position–an inspiring choice,” said General (Ret.) Ray Odierno.

Electors defect from Clinton

The Electoral College vote has been cast confirming President-elect Donald J. Trump officially the next President of the United States.

President-elect made a pledge that he will be a President of All Americans by stating: “Today marks a historic electoral landslide victory in our nation’s democracy. I thank the American people for their overwhelming vote to elect me as their next President of the United States. The official votes cast by the Electoral College exceeded the 270 required to secure the presidency by a very large margin, far greater than ever anticipated by the media. This election represents a movement that millions of hard working men and women all across the country stood behind and made possible. With this historic step, we can look forward to the bright future ahead. I will work hard to unite our country and be the President of all Americans. Together, we will make America great again.”

Hillary Clinton lost five electors, what is now considered the 3rd defeat for the Democrats when the things went in the opposite way from what was anticipated.

To make his point, President-elect Trump took to twitter to thank his voters while once again not sparing the media from his criticism.

Today’s meetings at Mar-A-Lago

President-elect Trump will be meeting today with Jovita Caranzana founder of JCR Group, former Deputy Administrator for the United States Small Business Administration under Bush,  and a member of Trump’s National Hispanic Advisory Council.  Caranza is the candidate for the role of the US trade representative. President-elect made his trade policy important during the election and because of it according to transition team was particularly successful in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.

The final meeting for today President-elect will be having with Delos M. Cosgrove M.D.,  president and chief executive officer of Cleveland Clinic. Cosgrove is the member of Trump’s Strategic Policy team.

In Washington  D.C., Vice President-elect Mike Pence will be meeting today with the members of the National Security team and he will also be having lunch with the next Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson.

President-elect will remain in Palm Beach through Christmas. Vice President-elect Mike Pence will spend the Christmas holiday in Indiana.

We will resume with our Daily Download on PEOTUS  tomorrow with the latest updates on transition.
